Course Outcomes
At the end of the course, the student will be able to:
| CO1 | Understand phylogenetic trees, their types, topological differences, and tree-building methods (UPGMA, LS, NJ, reconstruction). | K2 |
| CO2 | Apply maximum parsimony and maximum likelihood methods for consensus trees, branch length estimation, and protein data analysis. | K3 |
| CO3 | Explain statistical approaches in phylogenetics, including optimization principles, bootstrap tests, molecular clocks, and linearized trees. | K2 |
| CO4 | Apply parsimony and Bayesian approaches to infer ancestral sequences and explain synonymous/non-synonymous substitutions, convergent and parallel evolution. | K3 |
| CO5 | Explain the molecular basis of evolution, genetic polymorphism, and population trees derived from genetic markers. | K2 |
