List of Experiments
- Application of blast hole stoping and its comparison with sub-level open stoping
- Cut and fill methods used in different Indian deposits
- Sub-level caving and block caving methods for deeper deposits.
- Square-set stoping for excavation of manganese ore deposit
- Application of leaching technique in ore mining
- Stoping techniques used in excavation of gold deposit at deeper depth
- Design of Post pillar method
- Design of Shrinkage method
- Problem for mining for greater depth.
- Design of block caving.
- Design Sub level top slicing Course outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Analyze and Compare Underground Stoping Methods: Critically compare and contrast various bulk mining methods, such as blast hole stoping, sub-level open stoping, sub-level caving, and block caving, understanding their applicability, advantages, and limitations for different ore body geometries and depths.
- Design Support-Intensive Mining Systems: Design and explain the principles behind support-intensive stoping methods including cut and fill, square-set stoping, post pillar, shrinkage, and sub-level top slicing, recognizing their suitability for specific ore types (e.g., manganese) and ground conditions.
- Evaluate Specialized Mining Techniques: Understand the application of leaching techniques in ore mining and identify specialized stoping methods used for gold deposits at greater depths.
- Address Challenges of Deep Mining: Identify and articulate the unique problems and challenges associated with mining at greater depths, including rock mechanics issues, heat, and logistics.
- Apply Design Principles to Underground Layouts: Apply design principles to create conceptual layouts for complex underground mining systems, specifically for block caving and sub-level top slicing.
